Is there a treatment for shingles ?

        Sadly, it seems that there is yet no cure fore shingles. But there are some treatments that can be followed to ensure some comfort. And some treatment will shorten the illness time and better yet will prevent the horrible complications. Most of the treatments include medications but there are some home remedies too.

        Initial treatment of shingles include antiviral medicines. it is very important to have shingles early treatment because this prevents complications like postherpetic neuralgia. In this stage treatment include also pain medicines, corticosteroids, and antibiotics.

        If the pain persists after the rash heals, the need for an ongoing treatment of shingles is clear.If complications appear the following treatment must be followed: Topical anesthetics, anticonvulsant and some opioids like codeine.

        The thing is that the rash of shingles will cure on itself in a few weeks but this is the happy case in witch complications do not occur. So it is good to note that treatment will only ease the pain but it will not heal the shingle.
